speech-dispatcher.tcel build log download source from: http://www.freebsoft.org/pub/projects/speechd/speech-dispatcher-0.6.7.tar.gz Installed the dependency libdotconf prior to compiling speech-dispatcher. Also installed alsa, alsa-devs and espeak so that speech-dispatcher compile would find them. Also needed pkg-config. Unzipped, and then setup environment, and compiled with: export CFLAGS="-march=i486 -mtune=i686 -Os -pipe" export CXXFLAGS="-march=i486 -mtune=i686 -Os -pipe -fno-exceptions -fno-rtti" export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig:/usr/lib/pkgconfig ./configure --prefix=/usr/local make all make DESTDIR=/tmp/package install In usr/local/bin: used strip -p --strip-all In usr/local/lib used strip -p --strip-unneeded Removed docs, info and default sound.wav to save space. made copy of speechd.conf as speechd.confORIGINAL in usr/local/etc/speech-dispatcher and in usr/local/share/speech-dispatcher/conf and created new speechd.conf files to work with yasr and espeak "optimally" (particularly in terms of punctuation symbols read). Created tcel setup script usr/local/tce.installed/speech-dispatcher containing: #!/bin/sh # create speech-dispatcher log directory if it doesn't exist [ -e /var/log/speech-dispatcher ] || sudo mkdir /var/log/speech-dispatcher Finally, created .tcel (and tczl) as per TC wiki instructions. mcewanw 2009June01
